Tolles Buch!!! Viel Liebe zum Detail, sehr fundiert und gleichzeitig lustig & unterhaltsam. Nur zum empfehlen für als Fans von Comic & Storytellern.
Es ist bereits das zweite, das ich lese und finde seine Making Comics Reihe sehr toll. Obwohl ich kein großer Leser bin, komme ich immer recht schnell durch und meine jedes Mal etwas gelernt zu haben :)

Das ist ein sehr gutes Buch nur leider ist es meiner Meinung nach auf dem Kindle unbrauchbar. Es ist alles viel zu klein und man kann den Text in den Sprechblasen kaum erkennen. Abseits des Kindle's hab ich es noch mit dem iPad2 probiert. Hier lassen sich die Grafiken zwar zoomen aber dann hat man das Problem dass alles zu einem Pixelbrei verkommt. Schade. Ich hab mich sehr auf dieses Buch gefreut. Werde nun wohl doch zur "Old School"-Papierversion greifen.
I've always found it fascinating to imagine how a comic book author/illustrator creates the stories and images that appeal so much. Having been a non-fiction book author for many years, I have a firm understanding of the writing process. I sometimes pick out a few illustrations to put into a book.But building a story around the illustrations, that seems like a trip to the planet Neptune to me. I was very pleased to find that Scott McCloud is very good at explaining (and illustrating) the creative and production processes he uses. I was delighted when I realized that he had also described how an individual could make a few comics to share with friends.With computer art getting to be easier to do, I can see that there's even hope for those of us who couldn't draw out way out of a paper bag.Mr. McCloud has the kind of mind that sees everything in perspective, in this case as facets of an overall story-telling task. He always has the goal of engaging the reader in mind and relates his points well to that purpose.The work is impressive at another level . . . it's a masterpiece of providing instruction. The book shows more than tells, as a book about comics should do.If Mr. McCloud ever tires of making comic books and graphic novels, he should go into explaining non-fiction subjects. He would make a fortune!

Wie schon das erste Buch hat auch dieses Buch von McCloud die Eignung als Lehrbuch für Graphiker und Kommunikationsdesigner beachtet zu werden. Von der Comicerscheinung sollte man sich nicht irritieren lassen, Elemente der visuellen Kommunikation werden in keinem anderen Buch so anschaulich und schlüssig erläutert. Von der Komposition bis zur Leseführung, deckt es alle Bereiche der Gestaltung mit ab.Für angehende Comic-Künstler ist es eine große Hilfe, da es ihn ständig ermutigt an seine eigenen Fähigkeiten zu glauben und ihm die Werkzeuge an die Hand gibt seine Visionen zu realisieren.Der einzige Wehrmutstropfen ist ein schlechter Druck und eine miserable Bindung, darum nur 3 Sterne.
